Ash & Alkali started in our own kitchen, with a scale, a stainless pot and a stubborn dislike of what the shelf was selling us.

Soap is the oldest chemistry: fat, water and an alkali once leached from wood ash. We named ourselves after the two halves of that reaction — 

We buy the best organic ingredients we can source and keep the list short: organic oils, stone-ground oats, raw honey. No dyes, no parabens, and no sulfates. If we can't say what something does, it doesn't go in the pot.

We're starting with two bars, Oatmeal and Honey, because those are the two we were happiest handing to a friend. More recipes are in the works, and they'll go up here as soon as they're ready.
